Our research is governed by a major directive: Study how people use their vehicles, and the general traffic environment, then build the best safety technologies into our products. Active and passive safety technologies that go far beyond the norm are the aim of our R&D. One such is the Smart Air Bag System that deploys air bags in two stages according to the severity of the collision, driver/passenger physique, and whether seatbelts are worn, for further occupant protection.
