After having fun and entertained by the show, visitors
went to different places for exploring another fun. There was a bunch of people
at one corner of the Mazda Booth. Approaching as I was, I found that at the center
was the camper version of the Mazda Bongo Truck sporting a brilliant green two-tone
coloring scheme. Family groups and others were eagerly watching the vehicle, looking
into the very details. A Mazda personnel told that the cargo space could be converted
to a shower booth and/or bathroom if wanted. An attractive solution for active
persons, isn't it? What is more, the company offers an opportunity to test drive
the vehicle during the session period. If you are interested in doing so, come
to the test drive reception desk at the Mazda Booth. Note that a prior application
is required for the trial experience. |

In addition to the "ordinary" exhibitions
of each manufacturer, the 36th Tokyo Show offers several unique specialities.
Among others, I strongly suggest that you should visit the "Vintage Commercial
Vehicles" Post, where working cars in good old days are proudly exhibited.
Twenty automobiles on stage are made between the 1920s and 1970s, including Mazda's
rare models of the Rotary Pickup (1973) and the Type GB Tri-wheel Truck (1949).
Some of the visitors involuntarily spoke out, "They remind me of old days!"
with smiles on their faces. Yonger generations got interested in the historic
cars they saw for the first time, while saying "They were actually working
those days". Don't miss this unique exhibitions! |

Children were very happy at the "Tomica"
Play Corner and the "Working Vehicle Picture Books Exhibition". Taking
off their shoes, kids had automotive fun time of their own. Other special posts
provide "experience-by-yourselves" type attractions, including a unique
earthquake experience where an artificial seismic activity was generated by a
special vehicle designed for the purpose at Chiba Prefectural Corner, "Seat
Belt Convincer" at the "Traffic Safety Promotion Corner" organized
by the Cabinet Office, which offers an opportunity of a collision impact from
behind at 6km/h (3.75mph). Making the use of the opportunities, why don't you
get ready and convinced for "Daily Safety and Disaster Prevention"? |
