photoThank you, Booth-san. Now I will go on to talk about Mazda's exhibition vehicles.

At Mazda, we aim to provide 'Zoom-Zoom' spirit as the brand message for the commercial vehicles as well.

This promises to deliver more enjoyable and comfortable working environment as well as more fruitful living environment through exciting and exhilarating driving experiences.

For this Motor Show, we have three key elements:

#1: Environment issue--Of course this goes without saying;
#2: Suggestion of new business style; and
photo#3: Social welfare

Exhibited vehicles are displayed according to these three concepts.

Now let me go on to explaining the brief outline of Mazda's approach towards commercial vehicles using the vehicles placed at the center stage.

[ Titandash Clean Diesel Hybrid ]   Click for additional information.

First of all, let me provide you an example on our policy on environment.

photoPlease take a look at this Titandash Clean Diesel Hybrid. This is a hybrid truck which places environmental concerns as the top priority combining a newly developed common-rail diesel engine and an electric motor.

Newly developed diesel engine employs Mazda's own combustion technology.

The engine is fitted with continuously renewable diesel particulate filter along with oxidation catalyst which decreases the level of nitrogen and particulate matters in the emission. Combined with an electronic motor, the engine is even cleaner.

( System & Unit Layout )

The main feature of this hybrid vehicle is that whilst using driving force generated from the diesel engine as its main force, it secures additional driving force generated from the electronic motor when it requires large torque such as starting and accelerating.

This makes the emission cleaner at all times.

By utilizing the existing layout and parts as much as possible, we have endeavored to develop a hybrid engine with minimum investment.

The motor is mounted in the area of front differential of the mass production 4WD vehicle. This is connected with the transmission through existing propeller shaft and conveys the driving force to the rear wheels. The same mass-produced parts for transmission and drive train can thus be used as it is.

Of course it features systems such as recovering energy into the battery during deceleration and automatically shuts off and restarts the vehicle in stop-and-go driving conditions.

( Effect of system unit )

This system is 50% more fuel-efficient.

In addition, we have succeeded in reducing the level of Nitrogen and particulate matters in the emission by 65% and 85% respectively.

This is the level which can be applicable for future emission regulations.
